International Attractions

Discuss news and information about the international parks and attractions here

  1. I'm surprised this isn't a topic so thought I may as well create it. This park is currently home to 3 B&Ms, and arrow looper, 2 Zierer coasters, a Premier Sky Rocket II, a predictable drop tower (you can say otherwise if you've ridden it) and some other rides I cannot be bothered to mention. This is said to be a very beautiful park which I could't agree more with after seeing images and videos. I'm not an expert on this park and I've never been so there's no point asking questions aimed at me (unless you're not a roller coaster fanboy/girl). 1 more thing; There's something big coming...

  2. Saw this posted on CoasterForce. Love these kind of parks, I really need to visit Toverland. Wish we could get something like this in the UK. I think the concept of an indoor theme park like this would work really well. Concept Art

Considering they recently revised their Fantasyland plans I think now's as good a time as any to create a topic for WDW in general, so incorporating all 4 of the parks and resort...Firstly, the Fantasyland expansion has been revised in the Magic Kingdom, killing off the numerous Princess based attractions, and giving us a new Mine themed coaster... As well as the Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast attractions...Scroll down here...Animal Kingdom recently opened a new Animal Trek paying (I think) attraction... This involves a special jaunt around the Savannah area there and looks rather awesome... Apart from the food, that looks crap tbh...Pictures can be seen here...A…

PortaVentura is a Theme Park based very similar to Alton Towers but with the rides of Thorpe Park (not exactly). First of all is Dragon Khan, a 7 looping rollercoaster that was similar to Colosus but very intense. Then my favourite ride was Hurukan Condor the exact same as Detonator but 300ft tall (that's taller than Stealth) and it also has a ride photo just as it realeases you from the top. I stayed at The Hotel PortaVentura but there were two other hotels except my Hotel was the only one with direct entrance into the park. The park also had a double wooden rollercoaster what was called Stampida (Stampede) which was themed to be a wagon race. For anyone who goes make su…

I had a look and apparently we don't have an IoA thread? How? I'll just drop this leaked concept art of the new Potter coaster that's replacing Duelling Dragons, and maybe fill in some more details later...

Legoland Deutschland has announced that they are building a new €15.5m coaster in 2023, that will be the first of its type in a Legoland park: https://www.themepark-central.de/legoland-deutschland-neuheit-2023/ The ride will be located in a new themed area between the holiday village and Land of the Pharaohs that will also contain another attraction. Nothing else has been said other than the budget, the fact that it’s part of a themed area, and that it’s the first of its type in a Legoland park. There are no real rumours, but interestingly, I’ve heard both an SBF Hamster Wheel (suggested within the above article) and an S&S Axis (a European park wa…

  8. In rather sad and unexpected news, it has been announced that California's Great America will be closing within the next 11 years, as Cedar Fair has sold the land it sits on to a company planning to develop it for real estate: https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20220623005938/en/Cedar-Fair-Capitalizes-on-Opportunity-to-Sell-Its-Land-at-California’s-Great-America-Amusement-Park This money is being used to reduce Cedar Fair's debt. I don't know about any of you, but this comes as a big surprise to me; CGA had a very elaborate masterplan only a few years ago, if I'm remembering correctly, so something must have changed drastically.

I'd be umm-ing and err-ing about whether to make a thread for Walibi Belgium, but their new coaster is intriguing me more and more, so figured I may as well... Pulsar, opening in early June, is a new Mack Power Splash coaster. Promo video... Essentially, the ride features 3 launches (eventually reaching a speed of about 62mph) and one massive splashdown (the promo video shows a couple, but there is only one). It sounds like such a weird, unnecessary and silly attraction, but at the same time, I think it could be quite fun! To help improve throughputs, there will be 2 boats / cars. One is on the track, the other in the station, which is separated by a…

I'm amazed we don't have a topic for this lovely park! Should have been enough of a reason on its own! They have a huge expansion plan in progress with an aim of doubling gate figures up to 1.2 million by 2025. So as seen here the entrance will move, 3 big phases for new themed area (first one for 2018 which is the yellow one) and a hotel! Buildings up to 30metres bar the entrance which has a 45 metre tower whenever that materialises. New rides up to 45 metres with the exception of 3 rides allowed to go to 100 metres. They have nice neighbours it seems (if they have neighbours, its very middle of no where) So what are they buil…

Let's be honest, what's the point of an entire thread dedicated to Parc Saint Paul? Sooooo I thought why not put all those smaller places into one topic that will see the likes of PSP, Le Pal and many, many more have updates on what they're getting in the future for all budding cred runners! To start off, Parc Saint Paul are getting a Gravity Group wooden coaster next year: Elsewhere in France, Le Pal (near Lyon) is getting a JOYvelen clone (https://rcdb.com/15072.htm), and a brand new park in Parc Spirou (https://rcdb.com/12676.htm) is being built in the South, with a Zierer tower launched thing coming with it. …

  14. Movie Park is perhaps one of Germanys lesser known parks, being home to a top quality indoor gerstlauer, a terrible woodie, marmite SLC amongst others. However for 2017, the park is set to gain another star attraction, in the form of A Mack launch coaster which will be themed around Star Trek. Source- Movie Park Facebook. Certainly looks an interesting and exciting coaster.

This photo has caught alot of attention by the international coaster community. Dollywood representatives have been spotted in Europa Park owned by Mack, riding all the rides, there is strong suggestions that they will be building a Mack launch coaster, backed up with the blast slogan above and the fact they don't have a launch coaster whereas their rival park Silver Dollar City do in the form of Powder Keg. Although that some think it will be another woodie. This information was initially found on coasterforce who inturn, found the Europa information on Screamscape. Even if it isn't a launch coaster something big is coming. Lets Discuss! (would love to this park it look…

Surprised after yesterday's announcement of the new coaster (replacing Son of Beast, which I'll forever hate the park for closing for good shortly before my visit back in 2009)... Banshee is an Inverted B&M and will apparently be the longest in the world... And it looks like they've taken inspiration from the excellent OzIris at Asterix with the layout... Here's a few videos to tide you over... HYPE! Especially over the colour scheme

Tripsdrill's new Gerstlauer launched coaster 'KARACHO' is looking mighty fine! The coaster has been marketed as having the lap-bar trains and features a rolling LSM launch. All images thanks to Coasterfriends.de. Looks like a nice layout, and damn, it looks like it will have some good spots of airtime... And whilst I mention that, I really think that Gerstlauer could build a really good twisty hyper coaster sometime with nothing but a range of ejector hills and curvy twists and possibly a beyond vertical drop with the vertical lift too. On all of their coasters that I've ridden, the spots of airtime combined with the dinky little trains always end up being my favo…

Yes this is a park which its sole theme is the Irish crisps company that own it. They are planning to install the 2nd biggest woodie in europe for 2015. Stats: 1.4kms long (4593ft) 32m high (104ft) 105kph (65mph) 2 trains with 12 seats each 700pph 8.5million Euro It will take up 2.8 acres of space. The only coaster bigger then it will be Wodan at europa in dimensions (I think they have forgotten Colossos at Heide) Fingers crossed this goes all to plan as it will be Irelands first big coaster. Over the past few years, China has very much burst onto the theme park scene, with many parks being built from the ground up and seeing substantial coasters added. It's probably fair to say that some of B&M's, Intamin's and GCI's best-looking coasters over the past few years have ended up in China. And that investment doesn't seem to be slowing down, so here's the thread to discuss all things China! I'll start with a few good looking things... (All images sourced from VHCoasters on Facebook/Twitter unless said otherwise) Daxing East / Great Xingdong Tourist World Guizhou, south-west China Opening in 2018, this park featur…

This is for alllll the Legolands (and Discovery Centres in the world), and to start this off with a bang... http://www.legoland.dk/en/About-LEGOLAND/Press/Press/press_ghost/ Ghost is a £3.6 million investment including 2 floors of themed stuff, a mirror maze and drop tower finale... Felt we had a SDC topic because of Outlaw Run but obviously not... SDC are building a Mack coaster for 2018. Not much is known at the mo (an announcement is due on the 16th), but rumours are suggesting to will be called Time Travellers and that it will be a launched spinning coaster. But to add a twist to the rumour, track has started to go up and poses more questions... Source - http://www.midwestinfoguide.com/2017/08/time-traveler-construction-sdc_3.html Yep, a 90 degree drop out of the ride's station - nice way to start any ride, but a spinner? Who knows. So yeah, definitely one to watch...

Apologises for creating a thread about a ridiculously obscure park that next-to-no-one on here will likely visit any time soon, but I think it's worthy of its own thread.. So, Ankapark is a new park being built in Turkey, due to open in August 2016. And amazingly, they're planning on opening not 1, not 2, not 3, ... , but FIFTEEN roller coasters. Insane really. A full list of the coasters confirmed so far is on RCDB: http://rcdb.com/12017.htm Most interesting ones are naturally the Intamin 10-inverting (new style layout and presumably trains, like Altair) and an unknown Intamin family launch coaster (possibly like Juvulen). Unfortunately the rest of the coast…

A weird mix of the American counterparts and home of the delightfully unique Space Fantasy Mack Spinning Coaster, this park have recently debuted a Resident Evil (Biohazard) variation on the scare maze genre with the addition of guns... Groups of 8 enter and do the usual stick of destroying whichever class virus this one focuses on... Sounds like an interesting idea and a neat addition to the park... It's also led to this food offering... Source - http://kotaku.com/a-frightening-look-inside-japans-newest-resident-evil-833310331
