General Discussion

General Thorpe Park discussion. Rides, attractions and events.

  1. Started by planenut,

Any extra payment is annoying but if one only pops into TP for a few hours, which I know quite a few people do, they have to now pay the extra for FN days. TP/Merlin have increased the "event" days and reduced the open days in between this year and especially in the last month. This is really annoying as if one only wants to ride, it costs £15 a day extra. I doubt I am the only one who is annoyed by this. I do know one person who went there every day, but never rode anything.

  2. Started by Ryan,

They used the exit ramp as a Fastrack queue this afternoon which was quite annoying as 2 trains of fastrack users went ahead of me when I was stood at the front of the row I was queuing for. It also meant they had a swarm of people clogging up the exit path from right near the steps going down. Hope this doesn't become a regular thing!

What a frightening thought, but one of the ride operators asked me yesterday "what if your favourite ride didn't exist, what would you ride?" Now, I had nightmares last night. I think this is the first time I've ever been asked and if a person has one particular favourite ride, and it did not exist, then logically the next would become that persons favourite. However, if your favourite does exist, and then it did not, it is an odd thought. Well for me anyway.

  5. Started by Dr0idd,

Hi guys! First thread for me is fittingly about my first ever visit to Thorpe. I visit towers quite often and decided to attempt to get 12p tickets, which I somehow luckily achieved, thus I'm taking my mum and younger sister to Thorpe. (Both are above. 1.4m) We're visiting this Saturday the 1st July and wondered of any tips or a day plan if possible? We may purchase a one shot fast track if its mega busy (which is affordable considering our ticket price). I and my sister will be riding all the coasters and flats, whereas my mum will stick to anything that doesn't invert (she's past her thrill seeking days). So yeah, if you guys could shoot us some ideas of a plan and s…

A couple of snaps of the FlowRider which started to go up yesterday. If the weather stays good can see it being a pretty fun addition to the side of the beach which is rarely used now.

The thread about just food and drink avalible from the park; whether its Burger King or Baguettes, Colossal Hot Dogs or Doughnuts you love, discuss your love and hate, issues and praises here.I always go to Crust at the end of Colossus, mainly because I love baguettes and they are really tastey, but also because I am not a lover of fast food. Now and again yeh, but every time gets abit too much.I think Thorpe Park and all the Tussauds attractions should install some more salad bars or fruit stalls in their parks to cater for those who want to eat healthy food - or just to avoid throwing up on rides.

I was just looking at Thorpe's website and I came across Fright Nights. It doesnt seem there is anything new for FN, only Saw Alive, but tbh the only thing they can do with Saw alive is add one more new scene. Has anyone found any news, about the huge event, because it will be hugley appreiciated. Thank you

  11. With the mixed reviews Fright Nights have received this year, I thought it might be interesting to hear what you'd change about the event if you were given the task by the park. I'm not talking about wild aspirations here - no Halloween themed RMCs built for FN '22 please! 😂 Imagine you're in Thorpe's position, and this is your brief: You have a limited budget (same budget as 2021) to deliver Fright Nights 2022 There must be "something new and unique" that can be marketed by the park There's limited resources to get this done - imagine how this is in reality, a small team to deliver the event What would your realist…

It's that time of year again! Tonight is the Press Night for Fright Nights, and so I fully expect some spoilers to start floating around social media from later this evening. From now on, please post anything spoiler related here. The non-spoiler thread will remain open and available. Also, of course, everyone's favourite Thorpe Park fansite will be there and posting updates throughout the afternoon and evening. Make sure to check us out on Facebook and Twitter in particular! On a final note, here is the entrance feature to Trailers, from Jack Silkstone...

As Derren Brown's Ghost Train: Rise of the Demon has been rethemed, I thought it'd be a good idea to start a new thread on the new iteration just to make things easier for archival sake. Discuss away!

  17. Just wondering if anyone's got any experience with how long Guest Services take to respond to letters? I ask because I went to Thorpe on the 15th (when there was a powercut and a lot of stuff was down), didn't see that free tickets were being given out, and so wrote a letter shortly afterwards to request compensation (I enclosed my ticket from the day so I assume there's no reason why they wouldn't send free tickets). I sent it last Monday second class, so I'm assuming it's got there; my friends and I were planning on returning this Sunday though, so what d'you reckon the chances are of our free tickets being sent to us by Sunday?Cheers if anyone can help me out.

I am lucky, I only live about five miles from TP. I often meet people who have travelled hundreds of miles, but yesterday, I met a young girl who lives in Ealing, West London. She doesn't have a lot of money, therefore does not bring a car needing to pay the car park fee. She rides her bicycle, starting off about 8.30 a.m. to cover the eleven miles through the streets of west London. Me switching the car engine on is hard enough for me.

www.getwestlondon.co.uk/news/west-london-news/thorpe-park-firefighters-called-rollercoaster-12906683 I can't beleive the stupidity of these idiots what on earth possesses someone to break into Thorpe Park and attempt to climb a 205ft roller coaster! I hope the park take serious action against them. Its one thing to break into the park let alone to try and climb one of the uks tallest roller coasters.

Now the season's pretty much over, what would you like to see them change/add in the closed season for next year (other than The swarm of course )Music / sound system - I think they need to decide on what route to go down, the chart music or ride themes music. I would hope that they have chart music (the UK top 20) played at the entrance to the park. I also hope they bring back all ride theme music and keep that going throughout the season. A lot of the speakers around the park are broken, the amount of times I've been in stealth queue for them to suddenly stop is just silly. Fresh lick of paint - I noticed around the park yesterday that a lot of areas are looking run dow…

Thorpe Park have released some more details about their new summer event, 'Island Beats': https://www.thorpepark.com/events-experiences/events/island-beats/ Not entirely sure whether this is a rebranding of Summer Nights, or whether the park will be open from 10am-10pm, with say a ticket available for if you enter after a certain time. The 'Lost City stage' is currently being constructed by The Crust, so will be quite small and, as they say, intimate, which would make me think this will have limited tickets and thus be some sort of 'special Summer Nights' event. Sounds quite good, and The Vamps and Rizzle Kicks are two names that I've heard and are quite…
