Well done to Mack for taking down to B&M stronghold of Best Manufacturer. pluk can have a drink knowing that Time Machine has finally made it into the top 3 flat rides...even if Slammer has sneaked in that list despite never opening...

December 16, 20177 yr comment_254702 Wow!! Never thought so many of you shipped myself and Martin C!! ?? Also, I’m not that funny people so I appreciate those who voted me on that one to get me to third!! admit it.... it’s my bald patch isn’t it!!??
December 16, 20177 yr comment_254703 What an interesting selection of results (although some undeniably predictable). Top three UK parks seems accurate as do the ride selections too. It's astounding how popular and successful Gruffalo has ranked upon the polls. Third best UK water ride and best 2017 attraction? Wow. Symbolica still has it for me but Gruffalo for the UK is a top quality attraction. Derren's placement in everything just epitomises the pros and cons of the attraction. Third best Dark ride, best experience yet it's rated the worst UK ride. it makes me excited (however not surprised) that two of the most promising developments of next year are in the UK (for once). It seems my inactivity on the forums this year (due to personal commitments) has taken it's toll. Although I made it into a few top 3's it looks like I didn't win anything this year. I'm glad my fellow forum goers consider me TPM's biggest fanboy (again), but am also concerned they consider me most likely to be banned next year. The start of World War 5 maybe? Storm Surge award is perhaps self explanatory. It appears my reign of sexiness is over as Mr Fish is clearly a winner with his fantastic fashion, looks and style. I didn't even make top 3 females either. The Britney wig is going away. Over chuffed though with me and Tomb being ranked TPM's 2nd best couple, but of course Martin and Martin's love certainly appears ever stronger that's for sure! Now to get back on track for the 2018 awards. Here goes!

December 17, 20177 yr Author comment_254705 ^I was surprised at how close it was between Icon and SW8; I fully expected Icon to run away away with it! It was surprising to see how few votes some of the big new European things got - would have thought one of Valkyrie (Liseberg), Avalon (Toverland) or Hyperion (Energylandia) would have gotten completed the Top 3 based on previous years. But alas, a huge RMC is clearly mouth-watering for many! Also, a thanks to anyone who voted for me - mucho gracias!
December 17, 20177 yr comment_254706 The absolute worst result is Gruffalo being better than Symbolica, which is no doubt down to the lack of people who can be bothered to go abroad... Like, even judging from POVs it's clear as day...
December 17, 20177 yr comment_254709 How did Mack get so far ahead of B&M?! Some of the results there are pretty funny.

Not meaning to be rude, but you say 'lack of people who can be bothered to go abroad' but forget that quite a few members on this forum are minors, who can't just jet off alone, and that not everyone can afford or want the hassle of international holidays multiple times a year.
December 17, 20177 yr Author comment_254712 2018 - Phantasialand wins best international park, Mega-Lite riots and gets banned as a result. Easy.

Lets face it, the Gruffalo is definitely a top tier attraction, an E-ticket, a must do ride. No shame for Symbolica here, it lost out to sheer perfection.
December 17, 20177 yr Author comment_254715 The Gruffalo joins these other prestigious rides to have won best new attraction.. 2011 - Raptor 2012 - The Swarm 2013 - The Smiler 2014 - Ratatouille 2015 - Baron 1898 2016 - Taron / Klugheim 2017 - The Gruffalo River Ride Adventure (Please can someone explain how Helix didn't win best new ride 2014??) The thing with these awards is people tend to vote for stuff they have ridden, rather than looking at things more generally. Symbolica had quite a low ridership (and, in general, interest) this year, which partially explains its lack of victory. Also why Shambhala took its crown back as best international coaster, due to the Port Aventura meet. 1 hour ago, Whatever said: Not meaning to be rude, but you say 'lack of people who can be bothered to go abroad' but forget that quite a few members on this forum are minors, who can't just jet off alone, and that not everyone can afford or want the hassle of international holidays multiple times a year. It's a bit of a mix. There are plenty of people who can't go abroad due to age, money, other commitments, etc. (though you'd be surprised at how cheaply you can do some parks abroad if you want to!). But equally there are people who could, but don't, instead choosing to visit the same parks over and over. If the hobby truly captivates and interests you, sooner or later you'll start exploring and looking further afield, going to new places as well as old. Just some people go later rather than sooner. It's their loss though, since it means they don't get to experience the awesome rides that are out there...
December 17, 20177 yr comment_254726 ^ Check out @BaronC. posting 10 times in a row to boost his post count #unbelievable Looks like I should change my signature - thanks folks, I'm flattered - probably more shocked at being even considered for the sarcasm award over the mighty Benin Edited December 17, 20177 yr by BaronC.
