The British Airways London Eye has been under tussauds ruling for quite a while now, and its no different with our new daddymerlin.Giving us fantastic views of our beloved capital, the london eye - constructed for the millenium - has been a massive success and one of londons's top attraction. Situated on the southbank, its in prime position to see all the famous landmarks for a bird eye view. Dont forget to visit - its now included in your annual pass.Go, fly with the london eye. 2. After having visited many theme parks across the globe I just can't seem to understand why are parks are so badly maintained eg dirty faded tracks, worn out theming and effects etc... Places like port aventura coaster tracks are gleaming all year round year after year but ours are either faded or rusting anyone know why? I am aiming this more at Thorpe as Alton are sorting some of their coasters tracks slowly

  3. The Trocadero isn't a place I ever went to, but hearing from all the attractions that used to be there such as Sega world, have made me interested in what this place was like. Here's a promotional video of the park, just before it opened in the mid nineties. Looks like it was quite an interesting place, shame it no longer exists.

Hello there. I applied for my first job last week, a Guest Experience Assistant Weekend role at SEA LIFE. Was very pleased to receive an email today saying I've been invited to the assessment centre. Does anyone have any idea what sort of things they will ask in the interview? I'm pretty confident with the team working exercises, just not too sure how to prepare for the interview as it'll be the first I've ever had. Any help people could give would be greatly appriciated.

There seems to be a massive lack of decent waterparks here in the UK. The only one I've ever been to here that was not basically a normal pool with a couple of flumes attached was called 'fantaseas' in Dartford. It was just amazing, a full continental style water park but mainly inside. As it closed sometime in the early 90's I don't expect anyone here to remember it, you'll have to take my word for it, it really was something else. The only other decent experience pools I've come across, although definitely not actual waterparks, are the domes at Centre Parcs. The one at Elveden especially is great fun with, the spectacularly rough and dangerous outdoor rapids the h…

Unless I'm being blind there doesn't seem to be a thread for Warick Castle. Does anyone actually go there? Would presume so, what with it being on the MAP. Anyway, they've managed a decent bit of self publicity with this news story. I take it they use some pyro in their shows then?

I used to visit here all the time when I was a kid for one reason. It is designed for children. All the enclosures have viewing points designed for children and activities at each enclosure (like how loud can you roar even though they have no big cats ). Drusillas is also well known for having a set of large and good play areas. Many of the places I visited as a kid I can't remember very well but Drusillas is one I clearly and fondly remember! Park map for those interested. Anyway, opening this Saturday is a new land with a few rides, Hello Kitty Secret Garden. Included will be a tea cups, car ride and a frog hopper. It's not much but for a family zoo of this size i…

Rumours going around about a Harry Potter theme park in the UK.Harry Potter theme park Here's just one of the news articles..

  12. Note: I intend to keep editing this post as time goes on and more years are released. Hi guys. During the coaster consultations in 2021, Merlin released an attendance graph showing all their parks' attendance figures since the early 1980s. I had some time on my hands yesterday evening and decided to try and extrapolate some slightly more precise guest figures for each park from this graph to try and determine the precise(ish) attendance trajectory of each UK Merlin park from the earliest year listed here (1984 for Alton Towers and Chessington, 1983 for Thorpe Park, 1987 for Windsor Safari Park and 1997 for Legoland Windsor). For some idea, this is the ori…

If so please share reviews and comments.

Was planning on putting this in the 'Parks / rides / news' topic but then realised it's locked So here's a new topic... The 226ft Mellors Starflyer has returned to the South Bank as of today and will be residing there until 29th September as part of the Wonderground. So if you're around the area pop on for a ride! The spinning mouse coaster has not returned for this year. Starflyer was priced at £7 last year though I am unsure of prices this year. Never have I seen it less than £6 at other locations.

http://www.grimsbytelegraph.co.uk/pleasure-island-theme-park-to-close/story-29738706-detail/story.html Sad news, it's always a shame to see a park close and yet another bad sign for the UK industry. Gutted that I never got to visit, and unless a miracle happens I won't get to.

Didn’t know where to put this so decided to create a new thread. Mods change as you like! The North Hamptonshire Telegraph are reporting that Wicksteed Park has gone into administration due to the financial impact of the corona virus. It is also believed staff have lost their jobs and will apply for redundancy packages. Such a great shame this has happened for the park, which is also home to a classic water chute ride too.

Sorry, but I need to have a rant and rave on this. Last week I went up to London for the day. I went to the Science Museum to find that attractions that I am waiting to see are still closed and may never re-open.Firstly, level 2 of the "launch pad" has been closed since about November last year. It was called digitopolis and is being refurbished. It was meant to open about April this year. Nothing has happened in almost a year. They have taken everything out of the floor, taken the "box sign" down that was hung up and lit. Why change this? This was fascinating, yet useful and knowledgable for kids!Secondly, the Food For Thought exhibition has been closed since the summer …

Hi does anyone know what’s happened to Cliffhanger now it’s departed Blackgang Chine? I hope it has been bought by my local Theme Park Camel Creek in Cornwall. Camel Creek’s signature Rollercoaster has been incredibly unreliable and will likely be scrapped. Cliffhanger would be a great replacement. I wouldn’t be surprised if the replacement for Cliffhanger is Enterprise from Alton Towers,Spinball Wizzer from Alton Towers,Rocky Express from Thorpe Park,Apocalypse from Drayton Manor or Floom Of Doom from Funland Hayling Island. Please can you all share your opinions and hopes for the future of Cliffhanger and it’s replacement? I hope the replacement is …

So their new Twister (crazy mouse) ride is open, was supposed to be open back in May, but I think it only just opened end of last month! So found this video off ride, and they're building wooden barriers around the ride, while the ride is open, surely that's safe right!? And I wonder if it's actually going to be themeing, or if they're doing what they probably had to do to the other big rides to block the sound of screaming for the locals.

Angry Birds Land has officially arrived in the UK - Sundown Adventureland opened it yesterday! Yesterday sees the first Angry Birds activity park hit the UK. Sundown Adventureland, located in Nottinghamshire have placed an order with the Lappset Group, a large manufacturer of playground equipment for the UK’s first Angry Birds activity area, due to open to the public this weekend. The £250.000 investment for the park, who exclusively look of attractions for under 10′s, reviled the world will include several large play units, a mixture of themed swings and roundabouts and a giant dummy catapult to replicate the Angry Birds world. Today, I went to Beaulieu Motor Museum for the first time in about 15 years. I really enjoyed it. I love how the monorail goes through the museum!I went on the ride Wheels, all about cars through the years. It's not how I remember it as far as scenes go, yet it's still a classic. It smelt really funny in there, a bit like rubber. Nice smell, but it was nice to get away from it after a while.

Located near Kidderminster, WMSP's main draw is of course the car safari, but it also has a few coasters and rides to supplement the day out... NOW, they're applying for permission to build an indoor water park and hotel to improve the offerings, images below: It does look very good, whilst the ride selection (and ticketing system) is a bit poor, this will hopefully give the place a bit of a kick-start at least, especially as they're apparently also looking to later expand with a Spa and Conference Centre... No plans for the hotel as of yet, though I suspect it'll have rooms overlooking parts …

Hi all, It looks like London's Victoria park will be occupying a new event this winter, presumably in competition to winter wonderland! The event is called winterville and will be taking place from 2nd December to 1st January, taking place from 10am- late every day. The event will feature a fairground, winter market, music and clubs along with various shows and attractions to experience as well as traditional ice skating. The company has rumoured a set of traditional fairground rides as well as various rides from Europe debuting for the first time in the UK! More information can be found here: http://winterville.co.uk If anyone could find out anything about the ride…
