These don't seem to live anywhere specific, a place for ride accident reports. So here's a report of a ride accident.http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-humber-14702497Got to presume it's a belt snap roll back or one boat going into the back of a somehow stalled boat on a drop.

I was thinking of all the rides I've been on in the last year... and thought I'd put them in an easy to read list... you can do the same if you wish. 1.Nemesis (1994)- Probably the biggest and most successful rollercoaster we will ever see in this country. It defies description and following the B&M rule its the fastest its ever been, cutting through its pit in less then 60 seconds. If you think Inferno is a decent ride, I hope you go to Alton to be blown away. A true raw adrenaline experience. 2.Dragons Fury (2004) Ten years later Tussauds struck gold with this Maurer Sohne spinning coaster. Despite troubles with reliability this is a proper family coaster prov…

I have sadly yet to do a 'proper' inverted coaster as I did Air (now Galactica) but whether you count it going upside down or not is a completely different question. Rita nearly scared me the first time and to make the ride worse, my head in the wrong position so my head banged from side to side of the OTSR. Th13teen meanwhile did not scare much as it didn't have inversions. This logic has made me wonder what is exactly the thing that scares people. Is it speed/ height (like Stealth) that scares people? Is it inversions (like me) that frightens people? Or is it something else? This thread will be about what exactly scares you on the ride and then tips for how to overcome…

Whoever you are, we know you have an unpopular opinion. More or less every enthusiast does. So this topic is a chance to confess your opinions that many other enthusiasts will disagree with. Chances are, disagreements will occur but that's all part of the fun and you do have to accept that everyone has their own opinions. I'll give some of my unpopular opinions: I think Kingda Ka is better than El Toro. I actually enjoy Intamin Zacspins (basing it off my experience on Inferno). So far, I don't hate SLCs (this could change though, as the SLCs I've ridden aren't said to be that bad). I think G-Force is a fun ride. Space …

What is your opinion on Ghost Trains? Personally I love them! My favourites are Hinzen's haunted mansion that is from holland but comes to winter wonderland and Horror Hotel at Brighton pier. I think a ride like the haunted mansion would be good to replace SAW alive cause it's a unique ghost train in the fact that it's suspended

There's no way around it - coronavirus is going to affect our daily lives in one way or another. And with open season just around the corner, it remains to be seen how parks around the UK and the rest of the western wordl will cope and what measures they'll put in place, as well as how long it will be before Chinese parks (which have been closed for weeks already) begin to reopen. I figured it would be interesting to have a thread to track what's going on, and people's reactions... Merlin Parks The current stance across Merlin's UK parks and attractions is pretty simple: if you feel unwell don't come. If you have coronavirus-like symptoms when at the park…

Yeah this exists on TowersTimes but also I don't care. Not sure if this goes here or nonsense, but stuff you overhear at parks. On Monorail: *Points at Galactica* "That's Air!" *Points at Nemesis* "Oh wait no, that's Air." I wonder if this guy had any trouble finding the entrance for Air. Worst thing is he was at least 18 and was taking some people there for the first time. He also claimed a boy fell out of Nemesis. Later that day on death tra- skyride: (Let's call him Bob) "Oh that's the log flume! Is it open, I couldn't find it on the map..." (Someone else in his group) "Does it f... look like it's open" About one of …

Dunno where exactly to put this, but this needs a topic due to how important this is to some on here (I.e. Marc )...LINK Outrage has followed on the MAP Facebook page, but they have retorted that free parking will last until you get your 2011 Pass (Which for me is October, SWISH!)...But regardless, silly Merlin is SILLY...

I have seen other forums do this when I have snooped over, and I have seen top 10 best coasters on here, so lets talk about the worst coasters we have been on. It doesn't have to be a top 10 as per say, just one particular coaster you hate with a passion and say why you hate it. The one coaster I hate is Space Mountain in DLP, the last time I went on it I felt like my head had been violated and I had a bad migraine for about 3 hours afterwards. Yeah its not one I'm going to go on again. SO what's yours!

Looking through the forums I don't think there is a topic for all our ORP's? I'm sure we've all got loads gathering dust somewhere, so lets see them, old and new. I'll start. Clicking through some old photos I found a small collection from 2006, when PA were already offering an emailed file of photos for a small price - catch up Merlin! Completely unaware that Hurricane Condor was about to destroy my testicles A particularly uninteresting one form Dragon Khan Some ugly as hell merged photo composition on Splash And quite bizarrely looking like I'm sitting on a park bench, not a woodie, riding Stampida I know I have a stack of old ones from the early 90's o…

Ok, recently I've been thinking about rides in slightly different terms. It's probably Disney still on my brain but I kind of see the way parks run in different lights now. When I rode Space Mountain I was intrigued and amazed that in that building were two identical coasters running side by side. I'd never seen that before and it got me wondering what they were thinking when it was being built. "This rides throughput isn't high enough, lets build two of them".And it got me thinking further about rides like Spinball Whizzer, Rattlesnake, Samurai and other low throughput attractions throughout the UK. Is spectacle and making an impact more important then just getting peopl…

Being an enthusiast, there are a hell of a lot of "things" that trigger us. For example, things that trigger me: When a ride has assigned seating and they don't let you wait for the front/back (I know it's a policy and it improves throughputs so they have to, but surely if you're willing to wait longer you deserve the front/back). People holding up the queue leaving a 10 metre gap and taking 5 minutes to notice. Whenever Colossus runs on one train. GP friends who have been to Busch Gardens saying that Sheikra goes "inwards" on the drop (the amount of times I hear that, it drives me crazy). Anyone generally saying something about a ride w…

What pin badges do you have? Do you collect them? Looking to sell them? Pin badges here! Okay, to start it off, I have a limited amount of pin badges right now but I'm looking to collect all of the chessington ones. Whether I visit the park and find them on the floor or buy them for a good price here I'm willing to at least try and get them all.
