  1. Started by Mr.man,

I was looking through old Thorpe maps and I noticed funny little things that make me look for more.I noticed on the 1994 map on Loggers next to the tunnel theres the angel thing from after the tunnel and I just thought it was really cool. So now I'm looking through them all and trying to find more things.Has anyone else got any funny finds, Sorry if theres already a topic about this?

My favourite ride in the country. I once went to the park and rode it all day and went on nothing else. The ride is great but it could be longer. On the day where I rode it all day, I sat in the log for about seven runs at a time as the park was very quiet. Discuss Thorpe's oldest thrill ride here.

  3. LOVE ISLAND COMING TO THORPE PARK?! 'An Island Like No Other' So as I saw there was no forum topic on this so I thought I would create this!. So as you may know that there is a show called Love Island which first aired in 2015 and grew very popular since with the young adults and many other audiences. Love Island is pretty self explanatory it is a dating show on an island in which people couple up with each other and face challenges as a couple in order for the final couple to win 50k between them!. So this rumour of Love Island has been going around the Resort for a couple years now and I think this year may be the year in whic…

What are your favourite memories of Thorpe Park? We all have those favourite moments....... let's disscuss them here.Well mine would be of a few years ago, Tidal Wave was being built and it was back when Thorpe used to have fireworks. It used to be on a Sunday, my family and I would go to the pub where my auntie lived and have a meal there. We would get to Thorpe by 3/ 4pm and the entrance price was like ?10.I remember riding Rumba Rapids in the dark- full of mist and you couldn't see where all the water jets were. The next would be eating Burger King and watching the fireworks. On the way out of the park, we always finished the day off with Depth Charge, and then we used to…

Isn't it about time we could be discussing what potentially we could or would want to see at Thorpe next season, considering we're almost sure it's not going to be a coaster, and well they need some sort of investment as X and swarm backwards shouldn't have cost too much, and unless they got ripped off Angry Birds land looks like it shouldn't have cost them a fortune either. I bring this topic up because Screamscape have put in their news... 2015 - New Themed Ride Concept - Rumor - (5/16/14) According to an early rumor sent my way, Thorpe Park may be looking into building a new highly themed ride concept for 2015. Anyone else know more? With Merlin trying their hand at…

With The Swarms opening season out of the way I'm sure the park have started to think about their next big thing already, so lets join them! If the MTDP is adhered to we have a couple of fairly barren years ahead, but then we should be hit with something special again. Yesterday Ride Rater posted this Now that might be the most non committal, easily guessable almost non rumour you are ever likely to see, but the stuff on there is often reliable and there's no reason to think it's not grounded in some sort of truth. For me it would be the best possible news if it came true, a modern woodie of some sort is long overdue in the UK. We have lost out while the rest of the w…

I feel like I remember seeing some old plans of the family coaster that was planned for 2001 to replace wicked witches haunt, but due to budget restraints ended up being detonator! And for some reasons I seem to remember it possibly being a family launch coaster or a booster bike type coaster. Does anyone else know of any details of this project? or they whereabouts of such plans or even discussions regarding this?

Does anyone remember anything about old rangers and the rangers showcase. I have many memories and wondered if anyone ever filmed or had any audio from the old ranger showcase. As an old child I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was great at Fright nights 2010 in the terror zone to see loads of old memorabilia including some of the rangers, flying fish signs, thorpe farm signs and loads of theming. Discuss all this here and if anyone has any audio of Showcase let me know please!

After Runnymede's recent site rebuild its now easier to find past planning applications, some of which are quite interesting including plans from when RMC planned Tidal Wave, before Tussauds took over and gave us what we have today.Just head to http://planning.runnymede.gov.uk/Northgate/PlanningExplorer/GeneralSearch.aspx and enter "Thorpe Park" under address. Darn, I really wanted to see that gif again! :DBut yeah, talk about the time RMC owned the park here. Just in general really. Did the old Thorpe have any true 'quality'? Well, depends on what you'd call quality. No way did it have any world class quality (and, arguably, still doesn't) and didn't really have anything that would pull people in from round the UK. Yeah, X came, and that probably pulled a lot of people in, but it still isn't enough. However, when you take into consideration the company running it, I'd say they made many good decisions attraction-wise. In the end, Thorpe wasn't one of the big boys like AT, Drayton, etc. and didn't have that massive budget…

  17. Hi friends! One for the oldies here, does anyone else remember the “Ride it First” competition game on the Saw mini site back in 2008? If my memory serves me correctly it had some relatively crude 3D graphics and the goal was to recreate a *particular scene* from the first film as quickly as possible. I remember being quite taken aback by how grisly it was, but that may have just been my 10 year old brain. I’m sure if I saw it now it’d seem pretty quaint. Does anyone else remember this? Better yet, does anyone have any images or (Even better) footage of it? Or has this tiny little piece of Thorpe Park history become lost media.

Saw Alive opened in march 2010, what are your opinions? After a couple of goes I'm pretty impressed, the theming is top notch, best of any maze I've been through. The actors were pretty good today also really getting into their roles!

Who remembers the black spot? A long time ago, a bit sketchy in my mind.I seem to remember the train to the farm being diverted occasionally, some went straight to the farm, others got theatrically 'hijacked' by pirates where a kind of show was put on by actors when the train stopped. A few terrified kiddies were pulled from the train to be used in the show and at some point a black spot was put in the palm of the hand of one of them. They would then be told they would die a slow and painful death because of their black spot(!), but be given a voucher for a free ice cream to make up for it. Such a good idea and I remember loving it as a child. Why was it gotten rid of? Wo…

Hi,as some of you may remember up until 2010 Thorpe Park had an area called Octopus Gardens. Featured in Octopus Gardens was a mini Ferris Wheel called Swinging Seashells. Upon the resection of Octopus Gardens Swinging Seashells was relocated to Weymouth Sea Life Centre. During 2016 Weymouth Sea Life Centre removed all their rides. Ironically 2 were relocated to Thorpe Park as Timber Tug Boat and Lumber Jump. Timber Tug Boat was removed in 2021 in preparation for Project Exodus (Hyperia). Lumber Jump was relocated and rethemed at Thorpe Park as High Striker. High Striker is located more or less where Swinging Seashells was. Swinging Seashells is the only Weymo…

Also has the juvenile Zamperla ride Lumber Jump be returned to use ( I herd it closed correct me if I'm wrong?
