Hiya all,I was just wondering if there is any news about Thrope Blast this year as I missed the last year it happened in 2008 or 2009 cos my lift drop out on the day... I looked at the opening dates and times for 2011 and it looks weird that the park is open until 8pm on the 4th - 6th November. I then looked at the 'events' page and there is no sign of Thorpe Blast returning... So I was asking; Are they still thinking about doing it and thats why they kept them days open late, or, is it because its the last few days of the season and want people to stay longer.Sorry just one more question:Why was Thorpe Blast cancelled? My friend went in 2007 and she said it was really pa…

Simple topic really, just for updates and that over the closed season. (By the way, mods, can this be put in the General Thorpe Park Section? )Not much I can say really, and unfortunately I don't have any pictures, but there's a chance of some in the nest few days from me. Vertical construction of Storm Surge is not visible from outside the park yet. The majority of the slide is still in the staff car park, however, the lift hill section has been moved (whether it's just been moved out of site, or somewhere slightly more productive I dunno. Rush's swigs haven't been taken off (which is different to previous seasons I believe?) and Slammer doesn't have any scaffolding…

I was just looking at Thorpe's website and I came across Fright Nights. It doesnt seem there is anything new for FN, only Saw Alive, but tbh the only thing they can do with Saw alive is add one more new scene. Has anyone found any news, about the huge event, because it will be hugley appreiciated. Thank you

Each year Thorpe Park comes up with many ridiculously silly and entertaining marketing stunts. Some memorable stunts that come to mind: 'Say No to Bo' 'Saw: The Ride sick collector' 'Priest blessing Stealth' 'Urine collection for Saw Alive' 'The girl who married Stealth' 'Ouiji board in Saw: The Ride' We have also been very lucky to receive some beautiful promotional art, like this new picture here found on Thorpe Park Official's Facebook page: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash1/hs472.ash1/25891_415324725866_27217550866_5706700_3481963_n.jpgDiscuss those marketing campaigns that really do make us wonder who is behind the Marketing department these days, thos…

Continuing the series, vote for what you think of Detonator. Detonator, was one of three new rides for the 2001 season. Initially it seems small, especially when compared with Stealth, but first impressions can be deceptive!Vote and Discuss your vote here!

I searched for any topics on Picsolve, and failed to find any:I have just returned from THORPE PARK, and I'm not sure if you're aware of this but, Picsolve have now raised their prices as follows:Single Photo (Frame, Keyring, Magnet): £7.00Photo Pass (5 photos): £25.00 [until further notice, Annual Pass discount remains at £18.00, however this will be shortly adjusted]And also, there's a new option for photos: £30.00 for a digital photo keyring - it has 5 photos which can be digitally viewed. Sounds cool, but the price is just a bit hefty.Saw - the ride DVDs; It seems to me, from today, that throughout the day the DVDs appear to work from around 12 o'clock onwards and th…

I can't seem to find a thread for the website, so I though I'd start one.Just wondering, does the 'Rides Currently Unavaliable' widget actually work? I have never seen any rides listed here, even when I know for a fact that they're down. Also, does the website go down perodically for additions or randomly due to difficulties? ThanksPs. I've only just joined so please forgive me if I've gone about this wrong

Just wondering if anyone's got any experience with how long Guest Services take to respond to letters? I ask because I went to Thorpe on the 15th (when there was a powercut and a lot of stuff was down), didn't see that free tickets were being given out, and so wrote a letter shortly afterwards to request compensation (I enclosed my ticket from the day so I assume there's no reason why they wouldn't send free tickets). I sent it last Monday second class, so I'm assuming it's got there; my friends and I were planning on returning this Sunday though, so what d'you reckon the chances are of our free tickets being sent to us by Sunday?Cheers if anyone can help me out.

OK, we all know the recession is in full swing, and money is tight, but with the right tips, you can still have a great day out at thorpe park, and save some money as well, so lets discuss our ways of saving money if you have them...Post your ideas here, I'll start the ball going...If you are coming to thorpe from London, and getting the train from waterloo, SouthWest Trains do a deal, that includes Standard class rail travel, entrance fee to the park and bus transfer for £29 (last time I checked), which is really a no brainer if you don't have the passes.

Hi All,I am going to Thorpe Park tomorrow for the very first time and cannot wait.I am however slightly concerned at the chest restrictions on some of the rides. Does anybody know what size the restraints are on the bigger rides? SAW, Nemesis etcI am large lad, have a 52" chest, large legs and also a bit of a belly on me lol, I am just wanting to know if I'm gonna struggle getting on some of the rides.Your comments would be most appreciate. Thanks everyone

Yesterday I was quite annoyed with some of the staff, especially on Vortex, Rush and Samurai! They seem to be having silly conversations in the middle of loading times which even added more time to the waiting times. They really need to keep focus and try to decrease the waiting time for that ride, instead of increasing! However, at least they were happy (ashame that most of the guests weren't).I must say though, the politeness of the staff yesterday were exellent, even the cleaners. But, I didn't like the attitude of a group of staff were a woman had asked nicely when some of the rides will reopen and they replied "Don't ask me, I don't even work here", when they clearly…

I feel that these forums could do with this topic, traditions (rituals) at Thorpe Park. So, do you have any?I have tons, so here are some:- I aways head for Detonator first (soon to be replaced with Saw), followed by Stealth then Nemesis Inferno (then I head up towards Colossus)- I 'attempt' bend the rubber restraints on Stealth- I always try to keep my feet on the lights when walking in the X:/ No Way Out inside queue- I always eat Burger King (nearby Stealth)- When riding Nemesis Inferno, I rest my feet on the back of the seats infront (mainly just exciting the station)- On Stealth, I never look straight, I always look to the side- I always seat on the end seat on Samur…

Thorpe Park is an amazing theme park and has developed a lot over the years. But, there is always room for improvements around the park so do you have any suggestions? I am very interested to see what everyone has in mind and perhaps some of our suggestions may even been seen (seeing this is the official fansite for Thorpe Park). Try suggesting things that will improve and develop:- Atmosphere: What coud the park do to give more of an atmosphere in areas and rides? Or just the park as a whole?- Guest experience: What could the park do to make the guest experience far better? What would put a smile on everyones faces? What would you do to make them return to the park?- Rid…
