Chessington have submitted plans to replace Rameses Revenge with a drop tower. Corkscrew, in my opinion is still the 4th best Rollercoaster at Alton Towers, it provides 2 great inversions and is plenty of fun for all the family. Although it can band your head a little!9/10

According to Towers Times, Merlin have filed a trademark for the name 'The Alton Towers Dungeons'. Taking it very much at face value, that suggests Alton Towers are certainly planning on getting a Dungeons-style attraction. If true, it wouldn't be the first attraction to get a Dungeons within it - Warwick Castle does have the Castle Dungeons, which is a 45 minute ish experience. I'm... intrigued by the idea. There's enough real history, and scope to embellish the truth (see Hex), to create a fun and unique Dungeons style attraction. So so this is all coming up soonish! Tickets have gone on sale for July already so opening very soon! I was surprised a topic had not been started about it in all honesty From what I have read and seen it looks very similar to what the London Dungeons provides but with a different theme and possibly target audience, it will be interesting to see what it has on offer when it finally opens! Opening 2009 at the Alton Towers Resort is Sharkbait Reef, a new SeaLife centre for Mutiny Bay. It will be themed around pirates and will feature a 10 metre walkthrough tunnel. It's long been rumored the Enchanted Village is not the only new thing for Towers this year, and that the old beastie is finally to be replaced with a kiddie coaster on the same site as part of Ceebies expansion. Photos taken by TowersStreet during the Christmas event seem to show that work is indeed happening on the site. So what's it to be? I've heard Zamperla custom kidie coaster. No idea on the theme though, what Cebeeies property fits? How about Pingu? Make it all look like ice and the cars styled as a sliding Pingu on his stomach.

I think Spinball Whizzer is an overrated ride that gets ridiculous queue times compered to the better spinning coaster at Chessington! It lacks theminmg and is incredibly slow loading! However you get some good air-time and a slightly different ride every time! 8/10

Some friends and I are planning on travelling from London to Alton Towers in June, and I was wondering whether there were any tips anyone could give in terms of the cheapest way of getting there. So far the cheapest travel plan we've been able to come up with amounted to around £30, so if anyone could top that I'd be grateful.Cheers in advance!
