Due to a glitch, we've temporarily lost the Dylan topic. So here is a filler one until we can get it back. Hi guys!Been away for a while in Qatar!!Well, here we can discuss the slightly underated Slammer!I personally think it's a fantastic ride, and now doesn't really breakdown as much as Rush.

  8. speculation has already started for the ride after WC. Personally I absolutely love the idea of a ride like this coming to the new island at thorpe, but at the same time I couldn't see it happening...

  9. Started by Confuzzled,

I was thinking with a new temporary hotel on the way and the return of 'Scare Rooms' at Alton Towers, Could we be seeing scare rooms come to the park? Write your thoughts/ideas about FN 2013 in this topic!

My favourite ride in the country. I once went to the park and rode it all day and went on nothing else. The ride is great but it could be longer. On the day where I rode it all day, I sat in the log for about seven runs at a time as the park was very quiet. Discuss Thorpe's oldest thrill ride here.

Please don't hate me for starting this topic so early in the year... So I've noticed on the FN section of the new main site, they've got this... https://www.thorpepark.com/events-experiences/events/fright-nights/ Would seem to indicate that they're all returning, as I would have thought on a new website, it would have been easy to give the most relevant information (so, even if they don't want to announce new mazes, they could just say horror mazes based on Lionsgate films, for example). Could simply be a mistake though I guess.. So, what would you like to see at Fright Nights 2014? New films for the mazes? An Asylum retheme? Keep the same themes and focus on p…

Isn't it about time we could be discussing what potentially we could or would want to see at Thorpe next season, considering we're almost sure it's not going to be a coaster, and well they need some sort of investment as X and swarm backwards shouldn't have cost too much, and unless they got ripped off Angry Birds land looks like it shouldn't have cost them a fortune either. I bring this topic up because Screamscape have put in their news... 2015 - New Themed Ride Concept - Rumor - (5/16/14) According to an early rumor sent my way, Thorpe Park may be looking into building a new highly themed ride concept for 2015. Anyone else know more? With Merlin trying their hand at…

  13. Hey guys, I know it's only May, but I think it's time to bring up the subject of Fright Nights! As you probably know, the Thorpe website very recently changed the year in their description from 2014 to 2015..... so it now reads So, what do you guys think this means? Are we just to expect what we had for the previous two years? Will Thorpe introduce new mazes? Will they keep 'Studio 13'? What improvements would you like to see? And do you think they will utilize their new 'I'm a celeb' maze? Discuss!!

Hi allI'm really sorry if this has already been posted, so if so, feel free to move or close me!On park for opening day today and there curiously seems to be a new fence being put up around Miss Fungle's Safari that stretches around the back of Nemesis Inferno and to the Sing Star building. Is this the start of the work for the 2013 ride?I contemplated it being the fence from Fright Nights and that Thorpe had just neglected to take it down... Until I saw workmen putting it up instead..

With The Swarms opening season out of the way I'm sure the park have started to think about their next big thing already, so lets join them! If the MTDP is adhered to we have a couple of fairly barren years ahead, but then we should be hit with something special again. Yesterday Ride Rater posted this Now that might be the most non committal, easily guessable almost non rumour you are ever likely to see, but the stuff on there is often reliable and there's no reason to think it's not grounded in some sort of truth. For me it would be the best possible news if it came true, a modern woodie of some sort is long overdue in the UK. We have lost out while the rest of the w…

Fright Nights may have just ended, but we can still start discussing what could 2017 hold for the event! I do seriously hope all of the Lionsgate mazes go; they are all getting rather stale now.

I went yesterday, and the big top and containment were still construction sites. All the other mazes were great tho

What would you like to see for fright nights 2018? Discuss Fright Nights for 2018 here

  19. Started by Marc,

With Fright Nights well underway the 31st is fast approaching - the park have started some very early marketing for 2019. A sign has gone up over the exit and a page has been setup at https://www.thorpepark.com/2019 to sign up to be the first to hear more information on 2019. So what would you like to (realistically) see for 2019? I’m not expecting any new attractions for next season and that’s probably a good thing - the park can really focus on what it has and going from there. For me id like to see: Clarity on Loggers Leap future - if it’s returning or not I think this really needs to be decided /…

Here you can post all your theories and ideas about Project LC12. I'll start off with my first idea.I think this roller coaster will be a new concept ride, probably manufactured by B&M. It will be situated on one of the new islands behind Stealth, and will be based around some sort of nuclear explosion or disaster. Picture this:You enter the queueline through a big doorway in a huge power station-like building. The queue would then weave through the building, with riders travelling along long creepy corridors. The boarding station is like the boiler or control room, where the riders board the train. The train would then travel through a short tour of the building, eve…

  21. Started by JackR,

With THORPE PARK asking their focus group attendees to answer the question: 'What does fear mean to you?' I reckon that the park will attempt to make the mazes much scarier. I'm really hoping for a new replacement maze this year for The Curse although that seems extremely unlikely with the introduction of E10 last season. Anyway, this got me thinking about Fright Nights and even if the topic does remain dead for a couple of months; there is no harm in making one now! Post everything about this years event here, and hopefully over the coming months some info about the event will become clear...

  22. Something new is coming to Thorpe Park in 2018. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10159652058415624&id=283706330623 Some form of 'world first' (of course, it's Merlin ), though no other indication as to what or where though. No idea what this could be, but suggestions welcome (anyone who suggests a top spin in any way will be banned forever though )

  23. Started by Marc,

Saw Alive opened in march 2010, what are your opinions? After a couple of goes I'm pretty impressed, the theming is top notch, best of any maze I've been through. The actors were pretty good today also really getting into their roles!

As one fright night ends, the speculation for the next year begins. What do you want to see come to the event for 2019?

  25. For things that will occur during the 2020 season and isn't really something being done over closed season I felt it was right to create this thread. Thorpe Park are getting proper lifeguards next year this year (link to job ad for the supervisor position): https://merlin.csod.com/ux/ats/careersite/4/home/requisition/5304?c=merlin The description states that Amity Beach used to be run by the attractions department (didn't know that tbh) but they're transitioning to lifeguards: I'm not sure why they've made that decision but one could make the leap that they're planning on doing something to that area for 2020/ future years.
